As a life long resident of Clay County I have devoted my life to law enforcement. Over 45 years of experience is what I bring to the table to earn your vote and manage the sheriff's office.

I served in the air force as a military police officer beginning in 1963.  I completed 15+ years of service.

I began my career as a police officer for the Seward Nebraska Police Department in 1976.  In 1977 I was hired by the Gladstone Department of Public Safety as a Public Safety Officer.  Until just a few years ago all Gladstone Public Safety Officers where police officers, fire fighters and EMT's or paramedics.  I retired with 35 years of service to the Northland.

In 2008 I was asked to become a part of the Clay County Sheriff's Department Administration.  I served as a Lieutenant in the Fugitive Apprehension Unit for 4 years.

I have also served a number of years in the private sector in hospital security.  I am currently a Reserve Police Officer with a local Clay County municipality.

My father served 20 years with the Gladstone Department of Public Safety and retired as a Major.  My son recently retired from the Kansas City Missouri Police Department where he was assigned as a Pilot in the Helicopter Unit.  A law enforcement family is my life.

I have been married for 45 years with three children, seven grand children and one great grandson.  I still call Gladstone my home.

I attend church at the Northland Cathedral and volunteer on the security team.  I am the former president of the Northland Optimist Club and a former Affiliate Faculty member of the American Heart Association.

I bring decades of experience, contacts and resources to the table in order to be the next leader of your Sheriff's Office.  Pick me for your next Sheriff.  I appreciate your support.
